Legal Framework
As an alumnus, it's important to understand the legal and regulatory texts that govern the use of personal data by the UCO Alumni service. Here are the main French and European texts that are relevant:
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): GDPR is a European regulation adopted on April 27, 2016, and in effect since May 25, 2018. It establishes a legal framework for the protection of personal data of residents of the European Union, including UCO alumni. Its aim is to ensure the privacy and fundamental rights of individuals when their personal data is processed.
Data Protection Act
In France, the Data Protection Act regulates the collection, processing, and use of personal data. The most recent version of the law is the law of June 20, 2018, which was amended to comply with GDPR.
These texts provide a strong legal framework for protecting your personal data and ensuring your privacy. They establish the legal obligations that the UCO Alumni service must adhere to when collecting, processing, and using your personal data. It's important to note that these texts evolve over time, and we will follow legislative updates and new regulations.
