The UCO Alumni Network invites you to a private tour of the École du Génie and its museum, on Thursday October 2 from 6.15pm to 8.15pm in Angers.
Founded in 1748 and based in the Eblé barracks since 1945, the École du Génie trains specialists in maneuver support for the armed forces. Military engineering training encompasses a wide range of technical and operational skills, from infrastructure construction to crisis management, from force protection to mine clearance and road clearance, and from crossing assistance to disaster relief.
Guided by a heritage curator, you'll be able to push open the doors to rooms reserved for the Commandant of the School and usually closed to the public, located at the very heart of the barracks. The tour also includes a visit to the Musée du Génie, dedicated to the history and missions of military engineering, whose motto is: "Sometimes destroy, often build, always serve".
