Emeric Le Bars (Info-com’, 2012), a photo-videographer

01 June 2023 Alumni Portraits

Emeric Le Bars is a timelapse video creator in Los Angeles, and he is also an UCO Alumnus of Information-Communication (2012).

Timelapse is a photographic technique of taking a sequence of frames at set intervals to record changes that take place slowly over time. It offers viewers an accelerated vision of the photographed subject's changes (usually over a long run) condensed into a short period of time, as the action seems much faster when the frames are shown at normal speed.

Emeric recently shared his thoughts to students of the UCO information-communication program at the Angers campus during a Masterclass.

Thank you Emeric for sharing his skills and experiences to the students of the Université Catholique de l'Ouest.

Emeric Le Bars can be considered one of the most influential timelapse videographers-editors in the United States. His extraordinary products are not only recognized by great firms (Netflix, Google, CBS, Red Bull, Microsoft, Nike etc.), but also being used largely in the international press. He has also gained international recognition by various projects collaborated with Facebook and Adobe.

Last year, the short documentary "Lead me Home" (by Pedro Kos and Jon Shenk), in which Emeric took part in as a collaborator, was nominated for the  Best Documentary Short Subject at the 94th Academy Awards. His phenomenal career was the subject of a report broadcasted on France 2 "On the way to the American dream", which is achieveable in this link (from the 2nd minute of the report).

You can discover his work on timelapse in one of his achievements.
