Promesse: a film in tribute to Laurène Hug de Larauze (psychology degree, 2015)

It is with deep emotion that we announce the release of the documentary film "Promesse", directed by Thomas Hug de Larauze, twin brother of Laurène, who graduated from UCO's psychology degree program in 2015.

Laurène left us in June 2016, at the age of 22, after a courageous six-year battle with illness. During this ordeal, she had begun making a film, a sensitive testimony to her experiences, her hopes, and the love that surrounded her.

Before leaving, she made her brother promise to finish this project, to make his voice heard beyond her own path.

Today, that promise has been kept. And the result is overwhelming.

"Promesse" recounts Laurène's story, as well as that of her family, as they deal with illness and bereavement. It's a powerful, sincere, deeply human film that touches the heart and reminds us of the importance of listening, supporting and giving. "It's incredible how faithfully this film retraces our family's experience with Laurène," say her parents, Bruno and Valérie Hug de Larauze.

Beyond the tribute, "Promesse " has a mission: to support research, promote the gift of life (blood, platelets, bone marrow), and highlight the need for caring support for patients and their families.
